So, for the mutliplayer achievements in async mode, they are attainable, however there's some issues with them we're finding out. Basically if you're the winner, on your turn, it should work. There's some fixes we've been testing this week for cases where that's not true:
* If a player resigns, you won't be awarded achievements
* For the team achievement, looks like you may have to be the first player to win it (and your teammate may not, partly because they will watch the achievement and not win it on their turn).
Hope to have all these fixed shortly for our first patch.
