Steam Version - Notification Outside of Game?

Postby tals » Sat Jun 22, 2013 3:58 am

Hi

Just got this game and enjoying it. With Anywhere when playing under steam is it possible to have a notification of a pending turn without having to be in game. If steam will allow it through steam but if not even an email notification would be useful.

Yeah we've been looking into some method of integrating this into steam (like maybe Steam chat), but we haven't found anything that will work (Steam is not really set up to allow you to send this kind of notification). So we'll be adding email notification support, hopefully next week.

Thinking about it, not sure if this was possible or would cause other stresses. But could you have a friend called say 17bitserver. That would then poll you every say hour and give you notification of the games you have outstanding.

Probably a whole different ball game though in terms of achieving :(

Yeah, that's true, we use a third party service for the async mode, so we don't have the ability to run polls on the server to send you your outstanding game list. Although we're still looking at others to improve this.
